Recommended use

The coating is used in systems of protection of metal structures from corrosion and fire as a component of structural combined fire protection with thin-layer flame-retardant swelling coatings of the PLAMCOR series:  PLAMCOR-1 (TU 2316-082-12288779-2011), PLAMCOR-2 (TU 2313-074-12288779-2008), PLAMCOR-3 (TU 2312-087-12288779-2012), PLAMCOR-302 (TU 20.30.22-123-12288779-2020 ) and PLAMCOR-5 (TU 20.30.22-104-12288779-2017 ) to increase the fire resistance limit.

The coating is intended for use in atmospheric conditions of macroclimatic areas of U, UHL, XL of all types of atmosphere and placement categories according to GOST 15150, including in an open industrial atmosphere. The choice of a system for structural combined fire protection depends on the operating conditions.

EXPENDITURE

The theoretical consumption for a single-layer coating with a thickness of 1000 microns is 0.7 kg/m2.

SURFACE PREPARATION

The surface must be primed beforehand.

The primer coating must be cleaned of dirt, degreased, free of dust and moisture.

All areas of damage of primer coating should be repaired.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Preparation of the composition:

mix the base of the composition and the hardener (each component separately) until homogeneous in a transport container using a mixer;

using a spatula, completely add the hardener to the base (the ratio of the base and the hardener by weight is 4:1).

Rinse the remaining hardener on the walls of the container by adding SOLV-UR solvent and pour it into the base, then mix the components until a homogeneous consistency is achieved. The working pot life of the composition after mixing is 1 hour (at a temperature (20±2)°C), if the temperature is higher the working pot life reduces.

Application conditions: at temperatures from minus 5 to plus 30 °C and relative air humidity not exceeding 80 %. 

The composition should be applied by airless spray or with a spatula in several layers, depending on the required thickness.

Natural atmospheric drying.  Drying time depends on the temperature, and as the temperature increases, the drying time decreases.

At low temperatures, the time of interlayer drying of the coating layers should be increased.

The time of drying for service of the PLAMCOR-6 coating at a temperature of (20±2)°С is at least 7 days (it depends on temperature, with its increase the time is reduced).

Storage and handling

The PLAMKOR-6 composition is supplied complete: base and hardener packed in metal buckets.

Storage conditions are in accordance with GOST 9980.5 (at an ambient temperature ranging from minus 40 to plus 40°C, away from heat sources). During storage, the container should not be exposed to precipitation and direct sunlight.

Shelf life of the composition in tightly closed manufacture’s containers is 12 months from the production date.

PRECAUTIONS

When working with the composition, the relevant industry standards and requirements should be observed, as well as the precautions indicated on the packaging label.

Personal protective equipment (goggles, face masks and respirators) shall be used, inhalation of thinners and contact of the composition or its components with skin, ocular mucosa, respiratory channels shall be avoided; use inside the premises is allowed only in case sufficient ventilation is provided.

The composition is classified as a fire-hazardous material.
