PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF APPLICATION

Coating with high protective properties for anticorrosive protection of the inner surface of steel tanks, reservoirs, tank cisterns, process pipelines. The coating is oil- and gasoline-resistant, resistant to crude and commercial oil, fuel oil, to formation, sea and fresh water, to solutions of reagents with slightly acidic and slightly alkaline media (pH 3-11) and to detergents.

 

Operating conditions according to GOST 9.032 – groups 4, 6/1, 7/4.

 

The recommended operating temperature is up to plus 60 ° C (for a short time it is allowed to plus 75 ° C, it can withstand steaming).

SURFACE PREPARATION

degrease metal surface to the first degree according to GOST 9.402;

clean the surface by abrasive blasting from scale and corrosion products to a degree not lower than 2 according to GOST 9.402 (not lower than Sa 2 1/2 according to ISO 8501-1) with an angular, sharp surface profile and a roughness of 85-115 microns (segment 3G according to ISO 8503-2).

remove dust. Reducing the surface preparation grade and application on a smooth surface without a roughening  is not allowed. The allowed interval between preparation of the surface and application of the first coating layer should not exceed 6 hours in the absence of sweating on the surface and exclusion of any variety of contamination.

Application

mix the base to a homogeneous condition for 1-3 minutes using an electric stirrer before  application;

with constant stirring, add a hardener to the base (the volume ratio of base: hardener is 3.6:1);

mix until smooth.

The pot life of material (after mixing the components) at ambient temperature (20±2) °C is not less than 1 hour (for the organization of painting, the decrease of the pot life with increasing temperature should be taken into account).

 

The material can be applied at ambient temperature from plus 5 to plus 40 ° C (recommended to plus 30 ° C) and relative humidity of not more than 80%. The temperature of painted surface should be at least 3 °C above the dew point, but not above plus 40 ° C.

 

When painting, the temperature of the material must be not less than plus 15 °C.

Application by airless spray is recommended in 1 layer, brush or roller – 2-3 layers allowed. Drying of coating is natural.

The specified curing time is recommended to be taken as an indicative for practical painting. The curing time depends on the surface temperature and ambient air, the degree of dilution of the material, coating thickness, ventilation efficiency and relative humidity.

 

STORAGE AND HANDLING

The composition is delivered in packages: base and hardener packed in metal containers 20 l and 5 l.

 

It is allowed to transport and store the composition at ambient temperatures from minus 40 to plus 40 ° C in accordance with GOST 9980.5. During storage, the container should not be exposed to precipitation and direct sunlight, short-term storage of containers in direct sunlight is allowed, but not more than 3 hours.

 

The shelf life in hermetically enclosed containers while meeting the requirements

 

is 24 months starting with the manufacture date.

 

SECURITY MEASURES

When working with the composition, the relevant industry standards and requirements should be observed, as well as the precautions indicated on the packaging label.

 

It is necessary to use personal protective equipment (glasses, masks, respirators), avoid inhaling solvents during evaporation and getting the composition on the skin, mucous membranes of the eyes and respiratory tract; use indoors only with sufficient ventilation.

 

The composition and its components (base and hardener) are flammable! The hardened coating is not harmful to human health.

 

COMPATIBILITY OF THE ISOLEP-oil COMPOSITION WITH OTHER VMP MATERIALS

The composition of ISOLEP- oil is used as a single coating system.
